SACRED DANCE….SACRED MUSIC
A beautiful concert performance with two acclaimed Tibetan performers Tenzin Choegyal (Australia) and Tenzin Kunsang (Japan).
A son of Tibetan nomads, Tenzin Choegyal feels a particular connection to the music of the high Himalayan plateau. Drawing on his nomadic heritage, he performs original compositions and spoken word, infused with the essence of Tibetan wisdom and a sound as expansive as the Himalayas.
Tenzin Kunsang is a classically trained Tibetan singer, dancer and multi-instrumentalist with a broad repertoire including Tibetan opera, ritual dance and his own original compositions. He performs Tibetan Cham, a centuries old contemplative, a form of ritual dance which is said to be a joyful meditation in action.
Tenzin Choegyal and Tenzin Kunsang come together to share music from all layers of Tibetan society. Through song, dance and warm explanations, they take audiences on a musical journey which transcends cultural boundaries.
